I’m always on the lookout for exciting new books to add to our homeschool library. Seeing these two – one by a writer and author that I really love and another about a holiday that I love – made my day! Both have been pre-ordered and I can’t wait to read them with our kiddos. Both authors are Black women. This makes the books, which feature Black characters, more authentic to me. Without further ado, here they are:
“Little Troublemaker Makes A Mess”
Luvvie has been writing about ways to be a good troublemaker for a while – from blogging to New York Times best selling books! Now, she has a version just for kids. The illustrations are so cute and the little girl looks just like Luvvie!
“Let’s Celebrate Juneteenth – An Inclusive Holiday Board Book for Babies and Toddlers”
Tabitha Brown’s bright and bold illustrations along with Tonya Abari’s words will make this such a fun book to introduce and share my love for Juneteenth with our youngest child. G was only a few months older than him when he attended his first Juneteenth celebrations. We have longer form paper and hardback picture books to help teach and tell stories about Juneteenth. I’m excited that “Let’s Celebrate Juneteenth” is just right for the littles!
